Help needed Guys!

Iam gonna buy a second car this week to save on my petrol bills! as I do a lot of motorway millage... Iam looking at spending about 1500

So far Ive looked at a 1.7 astra turbo diesel and a ford fiesta 1.8!!

but Iam not really up on diesels anyone know any reliable makes models etc for the price range and what I should look out for?

Ive just sold (traded in) my Citroen Xsara 1.9 turbo diesel, and I have to say that it was an excellent car, not exactly got a sporty image, but I never had any problems with it in 70K miles (just new brakes ant tyres). id reccommend them to anyone after that type of car.

I have got a 1.6D renault extra van and it is the most reliable vehicle i have ever had.

VW Golf Diesel Mk 2; thatd be good on petrol, very reliable if its been at all looked after, and you wont be embarrashed driving it.

Only make them in Mk3. Second to bottom. Dump valve.
