help needed IK problem

Just spent the last couple of hours fitting my new Ramcharger induction kit from k tec racing.

it is going on my mark 2 phase 1 clio.

got the old air box out evetually!

and fiited up the new kit perfectly as per instructions.

turned my car on and it was idleing @ about 3000rpm and was slowly getting higher as i left the car running, before i turned it off.

i have since put the old air box back in and its now fine?

whats up with that?

Depends what it goes to.

But it shouldnt just be left hanging, and any breather pipe that was connected to the airbox should be incorporated into the new filter.

it goes into the old air box but thers no way for it to into the new IK.

it does mention in the fitting instructions that on some models you need to put on a breather filter. but it also says that is this is needed it is included in the kit!?!

no it goes into the actual airbox it has nothing to do witht he throttle body or manifold

theres a breaher pipe that comes of the maifold but that is conencted up to the new IK via a piping that comes with the kit

yes its a breather pipe

would this having nothing on it cause the engine to rev so highly at stand still?

am going to get onto k tec tomoro because it says that if you need it will be in the kit

wot would cause that then??

theres a small electiracl plug that goes into the original air box.

but the instructions say just take this out and cable tie it out the way sumwhere.

im wondering if this is causing the problem?

so thats what wud cause it to over rev then?

or what would cus it over rev that ive bin changing?

because as soon as i put the old air box back on it stop doing it.

ok,

just had a thort that it could of bin sumthing.

theres sumthing called a vacuum pipe that goes into the inlet manifold. i had to remove this in order to make room to get the old air box out, which was a b*tch to get out!

have disconnected it and started my engine and sure enuf the engine is reving way too high.

i must not have put it back on properly wen i had the IK on earlier.

so will try this and get k tec to send me the breather filter tomoro, so fingers crossed shud b good!
