help needed.. ph1 brakes

  Clio
hey i have a mk2 ph1 which is only a 1.2 i had to replace brakes ( discs and pads ) which lasted 8 month and then started causing steering vibration when braking. so after been told they would be warped i replaced them again and after about 2 weeks the exact same again. all items were mintex. any ideas would be great thanks

play in track rods or rod ends?
pads not pressing evenly on the discs - ie caliper piston, sliders or pads seised in some way?

If a garage did the work then take it back and ask them what's wrong, and ask them politely to show you the problem. If you changed them, did the pistons go back fine and the pads slip in easilly?

How do the brakes feel? Have they got a spongy feel and a lack of initial bite? There is still a possibility that there is play in the front suspension/steering if the brakes actually feel quite sharp, other than the vibration.

Frankly, I can't see how any mechanic would suggest the parts they have fitted 2 weeks ago are shot without thinking something's fundamentally wrong. It's not normal, as I'm sure you know! Discs don't actually warp, anyway, rather it's a common description for a fault in a disc causing it to have an uneven braking surface. It takes lots of heat and serious abuse or lengthy exposure to corrosion to damage a disc.

It's very unlikey your discs (or pads) are damaged but it does make me think something is not working as it should and I would be taking a closer look at the calipers, myself.
