Help needed please!!!

  Clio sport
Hi, i have a clio 172 cup, i had my headlights on for around 30-40 mins withouth the engine running, whilst fiddling around. Went to start the engine, it started but then instantly cut out. Restarted it, gave it gas then let it idle and it was fine. Driven it a hand ful of times with no problems. Went to start it up today after 24-30 hours and it wouldnt start first time. Tried it a second time, gave it gas, let it idle and it was fine. Drove to shops, came out the shop, started all ok. INFO PLEASE? Battery, spark plugs, electrical? Any answers please. Time for a service????? Cheers

Do you mean keep the key turned full and the car turning over for 5 seconds, even if it starts up or not?? Or have the key in the Ignition and just turned so the engine doesnt try to start for 5 seconds, then try and start it up properly?!

Tried that today, worked first time. Couldnt help but give it some revs, then let it idle for 5 mins and it was fine thanks. Will keep my eyes and ears out for anything else. How many miles between services? It had an oil/filter change may this year on 62'000. Done 66'000 now. Cambelt was done on 42'500. Thanks

usually about 6k for oil and filter service, but plugs and air filters etc are on a different schedule so I'd do them if they haven't been done for piece of mind

Official guidelines are 12k 12months for oil and filters. 36k or 3 years for the aux kit, 72k or 5 years for the timing belt.

Don't give it any revs. Doing that should start it each time, it's a weak pressure regulator leaking out the pressure from the pump over time.
