Help needed with accessing certain sites!

When trying to access some secure servers such as bank, sainsburys shopping etc my internet connection just hangs with the blue bar reaching about a 1/3 of the way and then stopping.

Tried disabling fire wall/deleting cookies, running virus scan, enabling pop ups but all to no avail - any thoughts? Am with AOL??

It's possibly your MTU setting. Are you using a wireless router? Can usually adjust the setting in the router page (192.168.0.1 or similar)

AOL requires an MTU setting of 1400.

Brazo, log onto your router, there will be a setting on there.

Or if not you can apparently download a program to change it on the PC itself - I'll try and find out what it's called...

It's called DrTCP and you can download it from here: http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp

Set the MaxMTU as 1400 and that should sort it
