Help needed!!!

bought my car a month or so back and it had the usual auxillary pully problem as the car was under a 3 month warrenty i took it back for them to fix. i got it back today after three days and it is still making the same sound. the garage claims to have changed the auxillary pully bearing, regassed the aircon and tested the alternator. they claim it is the airconditioning unit that is making the noise. on looking at the car it looks like it hasn't been touched i've read on here that to sort the bearing you must go from behind the wheel arch is there anyway they could sort this problem with out doing this way? i had the looking wheel nut key so know they haven't had the wheel off.

please help, thank you

you have to remove a fair bit of the engine to replace the aux belt tensioner

the fact that the part costs nigh on £200 might have something to do with it!

so you think it hasn't been touched? thats what it think. going to have a good look at it with my mate tommorow. don't really trust them if i was to take it back.

it'll be pretty obvious if it has been changed, it should have a new aux belt and a gleaming new tensioner

take it the tensioner is the thing that looks like a rod with a spring on it. sorry to sound stupid not that good with engines
