help needed

Hello I have a 2005 clio 1.2 and it cut out the other night along with the stop light appearing and now it comes on accompanied by the battery light, if someone could give me any advice it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, might sound stupid but where would I find the main earth strap and what's a uch

Dead battery, probably the alternator not charging.

Check alternator and earths.

Does the car start now or not?

I'd test the battery first, voltage isn't the perfect indicator - but it's better than nothing. After that I'd get it started (jump leads or bump it) and test the battery again, you should be seeing a higher voltage than when you tested the battery (if the alternator is working)

No the car doesn't start checked the bartery earlier on and it's reading 12.4

Call your breakdown provider - they should be able to identify the issue.
