help on clio history

hi there, im alex

just been to look at a 172 cup thats got a forum sticker on the rear window.
couple of things im worried about
its got kent cams in it, which are tapping! owner says its normal for kent's to tap. i dont believe him... is he speaking the truth?

also its an ex cat d, been repaired but drive beautifully.
previous plate on it was P200TAM. original plate is SM52CDK

does anyone know this car? trophy blue, cobra monaco s buckets, 2" sparco 3 points, rear strut and a carbon induction.
he's also fitted a flamer kit which makes me think i should stay away haha

The car belonged to 'Darren' on here, he then part exd it with me for a Meg 225. I then sold it to a mate of mine, he then sold it to Ted. It was a Cat D before it came into my posession so I couldn't tell you about that.

Also, it never had Cams in it when I had it, so couldn't comment, although bigger cams will tick quite loudly.

ted wont stop texting me, he said he called the police and they said it was an admin error by finance company and its clear. brand new data check says no. EPIC fail by ted

My old 172 had finance on it which was cleared when I bought it, 11 months later on it was still showing in the hpi. The garage I px/ed it never hpi'd before i'd changed for the 225 so that must've made them gulp when they did, even though it was clear it never got removed.

called renault finance today and it is clear! phew lol
but also checked the reg on askmid.com and its not insured when he told me it was.
really love this car, didnt think i would after selling my rallye but i need justification on those cams!

If you can hold on mate, Wednesday I'm seeing the guy I sold it to who then sold it to Ted. He is good mates with Ted and can confirm wether its had cams fitted or wether he is telling porky pies.

I'll update this thread either way.

Oh, and as for insurance, he owns a Haulage company so probably has traders insurance.

Im sorry ive seen this car, personally i wouldnt buy it now, i know he has just spend alot of money on the car according to the person that owned the car before as he is friends with the current owner. but there are loads to choose from

I cant remember that bit i know he had a cambelt and water pump done i think. im just thinking the cars been to dicked about with for my liking but yea its a good price

yea sorry anything that had a flamer kit on i would say was a bad buy. im sorry but i bet he treats it like a sh!t

yeah he was raving about that flamer kit, was thinking 'what a sausage'

just thinking how much tlc it would need. that exhaust would be melted down by the flamer kit and turned into a magical refurb lol
