Help on "Sprucing" up the engine bay!

After seeing a few bad ass sport engine bays done up on here and recently on ebay.. it has inspired me to do the same to mine!
Now I have a vague Idea of where to start and what to do but really im kinda clueless.
Wanting to go for the black and red look! Heres my recent (Drooling over) inspiration. Not sure whether anyone knows the car or if its on here but hey! im beyond impressed.

annnnddd heres what I have to start with: (added a K-tec Viper induction since this photo but yeah)

What I know to do is the following:

Paint inlet Manifold.
Source a 1.4/1.6 cover and paint.
Battery cover (used to be on ebay but checked just now and theyre not there? any help on this one)
Paint the cover next to the battery cover (this is the extent of knowledge im working with.. very laughable (; )

But other than that.. what else?!
Anyone done the same?
Anymore inspirational pics?

And before anyone gives me the lecture of waste of money and bla bla bla.
First Car, 36K on the clock, 1 previous owner from new, completely unabused and quite nippy for a 1.4! Cheap on everything and its gone from this:

To now this! one of a kind car fully working custom double exhaust system, in my eyes a decent 182 replica!
Keeping. No need for ridonkulous speeds in this country. Especially with police who have nothing better to do than set up camp with speed cameras around every corner.

spacers added since that pic!

Anyway now that's out of the way..

Any ideas of where I can start? Paint needed? Hoses? Covers? How much work is actually involved? Anyone got any of pics of their custom engine bays?

Thread moved to the correct section by jesus. Please post in the the appropriate area next time.

Oh look....

In terms of paint, it's best to Powdercoat it ideally. If not, the High Temp metal paint from Simoniz, Halfords etc will do the job. When you say Inlet Manifold, it's looks a decent enough black already? Or did you mean fuel rail guard? I'd do that and the engine mount and it will look 10x better already. You can get some Samco / forge hoses which will tidy it up aswell (but these are pricey, as I just found out ;)). Battery cover from MAD on here, and a new coolant bottle (straight from Renault) gives a nice clean and refreshing look.

My last update in here shows some Powdercoated bits and bobs;
