right need a bit of help please...

you may have seen my car in the for sale section, so...

got a lad coming to look at the car tomorrow for his sister, the wind blew the door onto a wall yesterday and its bent it and chipped the paint, real ball ache, theres a few scuffs to the lower front bumper my brother did, and some scratching where my car got egged, how much should i be knocking off, or a price for me to fix it??

was thinking about taking the car off the market until its done but the girl rang today so bit too late!!!

help please!

Well mate, as long as she's aware its got this damage leave it up to her to haggle really.
If you're honest with whoever you're selling to it should be ok, let her make her mind up.

If you haven't told her that the door got scuffed today she might be a bit p!ssed if you haven't mentioned it.

yeah i know, but i do plan on sorting it all out.

bit of a quick phonecall so forgot to mention it to be honest, hopefully her bro wont think the car is dodgy.

Don't worry about it mate.

If it was a quick call just say you forgot to mention it.

Say you have had a quote for X amount and then take this amount of the price.

Alternatively say you have had loads of offers with the damage already there so you are reluctant to move on the price.

TBH, she's buying it not you. You're selling. Concentrate on the good things, accept the few marks and use it as YOUR benefit. Keep on with the positive vibes, when it comes to haggling then you can use it as a bargaining tool. :)

Yes. Just keep going with the old "and of course the price reflects this and that, if I had more time on my hands I would do it myself etc....)

Good luck mate

thing is, i know how id want to buy a car, i dont want to rip either myself or the buyer off, id like to think id let the car go for a fair price as i know that what i'd want as a buyer.

If it's a good car it'll show through and the little bits of damage will not be taken into account that much.

I've got to say, you are being a damn site more honest about your cars condition to a prospective purchacer than most people would be so fair play to you, tbh the world needs more truthful people like you.

I'd always sooner buy a car with a fsh and lots of paperwork with the odd battle scar from an honest owner rather than a minter with no history from someone I didn't trust.

im not in a huge rush to sell, so id rather be truthful about it.

hopefully ill be able to get a quote for the damage and use this to bargain the price, but i still need to take my private plate off etc so should have time!

although i seem to be taking everything as if they are 100% going to buy, they havent even seen the car yet!!!

right could do with a bit more advice please?

the damage to the car can be sorted for £180ish, and the car is advertised for £4700, so should i say £4500 without fixing the damage?

the girls brother came to see it today, and shes coming to have a look on sunday to see what she thinks, are those prices fair?
