Help please, grinding noise

My brothers 2000 grande 1.2 clio recently got new drive shafts after it passed it's m.o.t. He drove it for the second time this afternoon and a grinding noise is coming from the drivers front wheel. It also seems that the pressure has been lost in the pedal when pressed.

I took the wheel off to check the discs and I found that the disc has a large amount of movement. Could it be that they have not tightened up the hub correctly and it is grinding on the pads?

I have little mechanical knowledge, so I am guessing. Is it possible for anyone shine any light on the issue before I get onto the phone to the garage tomorrow morning.
