I had a few hours spare today so i desided i would mess around with my 182. First i got a bmc cda of my m8 for the bargine price of £25 quid..:) . when i was fitting the bmc i noticed that the throttle body was a bit grimey so i took it off and gave it a polish up with brasso. .I then fitted the bmc and had the feed running from the clio's original feed in the wing (see pics). the car was fine for a few miles but then fetl ike it went into somkind of limp mode?? most of its power went and it makes a funny whistle noise?? when i turned the car off and on again it was fine for a few miles and then the same thing happened?? do any of you know why this is? and do you lot know a better way to have my bmc set up? any help would be good!!:)

id try reinitialising the throttle body, turn ign on for 30secs then off for 30secs then start up. usually work on other models after fitting a throttle body, worth a try. check to see if uve disconnected any vac pipes etc?

Limp mode is electrical

Check basics like battery terminals aren't loose

Are all the wires you unplugged properly reconnected

Issues with dirty throttle body sensors usually cause emissions light to come on not limp mode

Do a search on here for 'limp mode'

Just a thought - when you connected the air feed on the BMC did you run the pipe to the cold air feed in the wing? If so when I did mine I noticed it had a valve on the end of it that I think stops too much air getting in when the engine is cold, but opens after a while. I just took the whole assembly out when I put on the viper kit and had no problems at all. Might be the problem, but just a guess?
