HELP PLEASE :)

Hi everyone :)

Very new to this so not even sure if this is the right place to post?

I have a 2004 sport 182 - Engine Management light is flashing - rev counter is past 10 whilst stationery with no revs at all? Car is shuddering but still driving? Can anyone help please - don't want to get ripped off as always with getting it sorted :-(

Many Thanks :)

Hi Fred :)

Many thanks to you :)

Is it ok to drive do you think please? I've just always been under the impression if it flashes - you shouldn't keep driving it. Just not sure whether its safe to even move to a garage?

Many thanks again :)

if its orange then yeah it'llbe fine, red = bad

you might have a duff injector or HT leads aswell (genuine parts only please!!!!!)

where you based?

Thank you so much...its definately orange :)

Is that very expensive in your opinion, i'm afraid i'm going to have to admit to the "i'm a woman i know nothing" :) but i have a friend who has a garage but its 20 miles away and was going to use the garage across the way from my work but don't know if i trust them around price?

I'm in Wrexham, North Wales :)

not that far from birchdown

a set of spark plugs is around £40 (can be had cheaper off ebay etc) correct plugs are NGK PFR6E-10, DO NOT let the garage fit anything else!
genuine HT leads are about £45-£50, again GENUINE ONLY (you can mail order them from Adam at Renault trade parts on 01902439264 tell him Fred sent you)

for a professional to fit the above is no more than 20-30min, so don't let them charge you anything more!

it really needs to be plugged into a diagnostic computer to find the actual fault, but that can cost you anything from £free to £80 depending where you take it!

Aha - i guess thats where your based?

Right...thats fantastic, i'm really very grateful to you thank you so much. I've had a lot of problems over the years with it but the light's never flashed so it just made me panic!!! Sorry to keep pestering but is this easy enough to do yourself...i know that the engine is a pain to work on because its so squeezed in i guess but i have someone who may be able to do?

Thanks ever so much again :)

As said, start with a diagnostic plug in..... will give you the error codes, & then you go from there, or who ever repairs it. Pity you wasnt in south wales coulda plugged mine in to read it!
