< HELP > Removing Door cards Mk2

Right, i need to remove the external door handles... which means removing the whole door card from my 172.

how do i do it?

I've unscrewed all the screws i can see (including the one on the handle) etc.. and pulled the putty away around the bottom but the top of the panel wont budge!

how do i get it off?

Once you have taken out the screws at the bottom, and the one in the handle, it is only the black mastic holding the panel.

If you have freed the mastic at the bottom, then you need to lift the panel upwards, it will come away as far as the internal wires will allow.

The mastic is a b*****d sometimes just give it a good tug and lift upwards it should come off fine , think its just two bolts and a rod to remove the handles iirc
