help whys my car making this noise!

I'm somewere on the services on the M62 trying to get home but my engines making a really whining sound like its a upset electric car :/ belts were changed last year so I hope its not that

sounds like a tensioner/idler.

Deffo coming from drivers side of cam cover>?

Yeah its from the drivers side..

I've been to a garage who i know and they think it might be the air con compressor? im not sure if this sounds right, its going in tommrow morning for a proper look.

You can use a screwdriver to press against the compressor, and the handle near your ear. Then do the same near the head etc etc

Its like a crude stethascope, but will point you the the area of the issue.

Might be the aux belt tensioners/pullys?

Sounds like the lower aux belt idler is at fault

hmm i will suggest that tommrow then, how much would that be to cost roughly to fix ?

Bout £130 for the full aux belt and tensioner kit IIRC
