Help with 9851R

Got my new headunit today (Alpine 9851R) and I cant get it to work.

Ive got all the connectors Car Audio Direct told me to get, but it just seems like theres no power going to the unit. I have a few connectors that dont seem to have homes and Im wondering whether Ive missed something out.

The connectors are on the end of coloured wires with coloured plastic surrounds at the top (ones yellow and the others red, but there are more)

Its an 02 Clio (mk2 phase2)

read the manual, it will explain how to wire it up properly, remember it needs a constant +12v feed from the battery at all times, yet will only work with the ignition in the accessory position

the red and yellow one are the both power wires

does it say in the manual that it needs one connecting to the battery?

surprising how often that book they give you, which says, please read before installing helps

I normally do read the manual... (Ive written a few, gotta love working in I.T. for thickos ) just didnt this time

Hate to say it, but i did exactly the same thing with exactly the same headunit . Wired it all up, turned the ignition on, absolutely nothing.

Then i had a closer look and thought "why are these red and yellow wires not connected".

Doh.
