  clio 172 cup
just brought a yozza de-cat 4 me 172 cup nd wanna replace lambda sensors. anyone have any ideas on where nd how much? i also heard that maybe only one sensor is needed nd other could be blocked of? any advice would be grateful.

The second sensor ins't needed don't plug it in or anyhting just unplug it and take the wires out thw way.

Why do you want to replace the sensors there nto cheap £60 for the front one I think.

Since I've had to guess at what you meant I've retyped what i think is your question as a quote.

£60 is cheap think might be £80 not checked for ages.

No need to chnage them unless you can tell there a problem.

The second sensor just store it err wherever you want in a cupboard etc at home take the wires up so they don't get moisture etc in and out the way.

182 have different ECU mapping so if you unplug the secon sensor you'll get the warning light thrown up instantly if you leave it in it will come on in time how long depends could be the next day or 10 years away.

cheers edde, at the moment no warning light on but i have read previous posts about it being a little random. cheers for the info.

mine came on after 3 months, im gunna buy one of those fastchip thingys to reset it at some point. Will it effect the fuelling if you just cable tie the 2nd lambda to something and block the hole?

The light comming on makes no difference to performace.

Cable tie the lambeda and plug it in when its not in the exhaust is a garenteed instal light on.

Thankyou edde - I wasnt suggesting it did i just dont like the light there.

I just wondered if the fact that i had the second sensor out the way if this would effect the fuelling at all or is the second sensor literally just to check the cat is working

Thanks
matt

Fueling ins't ffected its as you said just a check.

There is fix but for the effort you have to be deicated to do it (its a variable output sesnor hard wired to the loom to make the EC think the cats working as its getting the right signals back. But noone has put it inot production since it needs a power line and the heater wire isn isless as it switches off under certtain circumstance (over 105 from memory)

i think you might need to drop the sub frame mate aint 100% tho

nah no need...you just need a super skinny person to hold a spanner on the manifold end that you can access from the engine bay and then someone else underneath to undo the bolts from underneath took about 5 mins to do for me but about 2 hours to sort the rest of the exhaust!
