Help with exhaust

  Clio MK2 Phase 2
Hey all,
bought an aftermarket exhaust which I know most of you won't agree on, but I did anyway.
trouble is it is a twin exhaust and I've been trying to get it welded today, except every garage is saying they'll probably need to cut the body work otherwise the exhaust will be facing the floor.
I just thought it'd look tacky with a cut bumper, any of you guys had this trouble?
Thanks in advance,

Sorry just to be clear, you've bought at 182 Exhaust for something that isn't a 182? you mean the wheel well is in the way?

I hope it's not a 182 system!

anyway on the basis it isn't, you most likely will need to cut it to some degree.

It will be a universal one off ebay.

You will be lucky if it is the same bore as the standard exhaust.

But most garages yes will advise you to cut your bumper to get the exhaust to fit straight.

Otherwise it will pull the previous pipe work down to sit it under the bumper.

My advice, as I did buying a universal exhaust when I was 17, is to throw it away and either get a custom system if you want... Or save the money for a better car.

Liam.

You got a link to this? just to see what it's like. If it's made to fit the car then just cutting the bumpers should be alright.

Mine at the time said for: Fiesta / Focus all engine models universal exhaust backbox...

I would put a fair bit of money that this is the same.

If its made for the PH2 clio It should be ok, maybe not the best fit but a bit of cutting of the bumper and fiddling around it'll be ok.

If Generic though not sure how well it will fit, if it fits a Laguna which has a much longer wheel base it'll be an issue at the end over the axle, which might be what the garage is on about.
