Help with laptop :(

I shutdown my laptop before, and it won't turn back on now. Tried holding the power button down for ages, plugged it in to charge it for a while etc and it won't work its a Toshiba Equium. Any suggestions? If not think I'll just take it back on warranty, see if they can fix it or replace it.

This happened to my mother in laws laptop, wouldn't switch on, and when I looked underneath, one of the battery locks was unlocked, so i switched it back to the locked position, and it booted up.

Try removing the battery and running laptop directly from the mains. This happened to 1 of our toshiba's in work, something to do with static and the battery!
