Driving along today and all of a sudden the car sound like something fell out the bottom and the whole car cut out but nothing fell out the car! it will tick over but wont start any ideas pls????

how does it tick over but not start? its gotto start to tick over!

Does the rev counter move when trying to start it? does the engine actually turn?

i wouldnt try starting it.. could be a snapped cambelt or somethign worrying. :S

well he cant do any more damage than he already would have if the belt has snapped.

not if he was driving and the belt snapped, if it snapped when he turned it over, then yes it will do damage, but as the engine will be turning, the cams stop, but the bottom end will keep turning, so tbh any damage would have already been done.

so turning over, ticking over means its running.

Pull the rocker cover off. see if the cams are moving when you turn it over.

Easier option is to remove the s**t guard in the o/s wheel arch and see if the cam belt is still on

Or pull off the dizzy cap, see if its moving.

the cam belts gone! so how much will it cost to sort out? i know its one of the worst things that can happen!
