someone i know has a 1998 r reg clio 1.4 rt he has jus changed the batterys in his key fobs an now the remote locking wont work an engine wont start due to key not turning imobiliser off is there anything he has to do after replacing the batteries? Has it afected the keys code? Any help would be much appricated cheers stu

Has he got a spare key?
On pug's you have to put the spare in the ignition so all ignition lights are on and hold the fob up to the reciever and press the open door loock button.
Might work??

when i changed my key fob batteries on my 1998 1.2 it just worked i didnt have to do anything :S

but shouldnt he have a normal spare key ?

Has he put the battery back in the right way?

Apart from that, can't think of any other reason it wouldn't work.
