So yesterday i bought and installed vista home premium 64 bit (I know i know)
and basically it runs terrible. In games where i was getting 90 - 100 fps im now getting max 20. I cant run world of warcraft (which isn't really a demanding game) and youtube at the same time or the youtube video pauses like its buffering every two seconds
im not sure whats wrong. I updated my graphics card drivers etc to try find a solution. Does 64 bit vista have a problem with single core CPU's ? because mine is fairly old.
The tech spec of my system is
AMD athlon 64 3500+ 2.2Ghz [Single Core]
3GB High performance RAM
BFG Geforce 9600 GT OC
530Watt PSU
The mobo is some crappy thing i got in a system from curries about 3 years ago.
Any info from anyone would be great because im thinking of just forgetting the £70 i spent and going back to XP media centre edition...
My CPU meters are nearly always showing 100% with one program open they idle at about 70-80% if im not doing anything.
