Hi Everone from Dubai

Hi guys!

I've been living in Dubai for less than one year, and I recently acquired a Clio Sport 182 for a very reasonable price, first of all due to the low demand of this car in this Country and secondly because the car it was not in a very good condition, so I bought it knowing before hand that I am going to improve the car and repair it. It was exactly 1,250 pounds. Actually when I was looking for a Clio Sport 182 there were only 3 in all the Country for sale, and one of them was the one that I bought.

It is from September 2006 - 171,000 km - Black. I think is the 'full fat' (with xenon, clima...)

The first problem that I have to fix is the three engineer mounts. Fortunately I took it to the garage and they connect the computer and did not find any error (the status of the car when I bought it was kind of abandoned and the guy that sold me the car did not know anything about the car, coz he bought it in a auction)

Any recommendation regarding the improvement of the car status and the important points to check for the car will be more than welcome!

Yes I have to change the exhaust system, is one of my future plans, but first I have to revise the engine, suspensions and steering things that don't look perfect to me...

If you can find out who was the previous owner it will be awesome coz I do not have any idea about the history of the car

Yeees! And it is unsupportable, I wanna remove it. I was asking and they told me that they can remove the mini speaker which the sounds come from, do you know if there is another way?

From what I know the only thing you can do is remove the speaker, the rest of it is pretty much hard-wired into the ECU.
Thing is, from all I know of your part of the world, you don't exactly have much in the way of "twisty roads"...other than Dubai Autodrome
And keeping pace with the Shiekhs? No chance...well, even if you did, that'll be Dirhams by the bucket-load please!

That's true, you have to take a two hours trip to find some interesting twisty road.
A Clio Sport here is a very uncommon car, but that's the funny part, you can surprise some big ones...

I did spot that when over there. There was a 197 Clio with an atrocious bodykit that looked like the car should have been in Malaysia, not UAE!
I guess there isn't much call for "affordable" French cars

Still, my aunt is out in RAK and only feels safe in a Pajero and after a couple of taxi rides to Yas Marina and back, I can totally see why!

Congrats on the 182! Can I ask you which garage is that (3rd pic from the top)? Is that Phoenix?

If you can get hold of a Renault CLiP interface, you can switch it off :wink:

Not bad so far, sometimes they struggle finding parts, but quite professional, they are use to deal with high performance cars. However their hourly labor rate is not precisely cheap, around 250-300 AED/hour

Not cheap!!! But their website is half decent which is very rare in Dubai and they resell for Forged too which is a good sign.
