hi everyone just registered and need your help

i have a 2001 clio sport 172 a i had a 2000 model before and never had any probs with it at all. anyway ive brought this one now and it runs like a diesel once the engine warms up i would like to ask for your help to see what it may be i have a rough idea it could be the dephaser? can it be anything else aswell?

Yeah sounds like a dephaser. Get it booked in for a cam belt and new dephaser.

it wouldnt effect the lifters in anyway will it or will they adjust once the pulley is done?

Not sure what your asking mate?

To do the dephaser, it requires a quite a bit of work. While your changing the dephaser, you may as well do the cam belt as the labour is practically already done (cambelt is hard to access, and needs specific tools. Replacing the dephaser pully requires all that to be done, don't think a garage would reuse a belt anyway)

Anyway, make a post in one of the technical sections, your bound to get a better reply there..
