Hi everyone
I just bought a 172 MKII Cup as a second car and it's fair to say the first week of ownership havn't been the smoothest. I knew the timing belt reuired changing and bartered according when purchasing. It went into a Renault garage with an total estimated cost of £400, two days later and a new de-phaser pulley etc - car is back...£600 lighter ah well..onwards and upwards, you would think....
The car is now running like a dawg! It's like it's misfiring on tick over and the power pick seems 'more subdued' than prior to the work. I was told by another mechanic that this could be signs of the timing belt being fit "one tooth out".
I am not techy when it comes to cars (yet), does this sound right? My car is running like sh** and it's cost me £600 to get it into this state.
Any advice, knowledge, judgement is most apprieciated.
