hello , im taylor
goin to buy a clio 2 mo either lookin at a 52 plate 1.4 16 valve 98 bhp as standard or the 1.2 16 valve later ones that have 75 bhp but are easly tunable.

im staff on both stanleypod.com and 205oc.com

currently drive a peugoet 205 but when i wrote off my 1st 205 i had a clio as a curtesy car for a while and loved it.

I'd advise against tuning a 1.2 16v.

Seems you have to spend a lot of money for little gains.

i was thinkin about a 1.4 plus a diesel low conpression turbo but after much investigation found that the internals wouldnt hack even a really small one. figured in time i can just drop a 172 lump in what ever i get as as far as im aware the mounts are the same.

u could get a 1.6 16v and tune that to decent amount of power
takes a fair bit of cash tho......

1.6 16v is a good base engine for tuning (can get 220bhp+ but that'll cost around £10,000+) if you cant stretch to a 172. You can pick up a ph1 172 for about £4000 these days though.

Welcome to CS - i would definantly go for a 172, but if not get a 1.6 16v
