Welcome to the forum! You need to go to settings in the top right and then paid subscriptions down on the left hand side. I think its £12 for the whole year and well worth it!!

The 182 might feel a bit slower due to not havin a huge jump on the cam stages like some N/As it has better mid range drive. Also maybe give it a good service (using the proper oil) and get a panel filter in the air box to free it up a little also get using the Vpower some guy who had mine before me didn't use Vpower so after a good run through and good service it did feel a bit more urgent but was low miles so it feels like it's still getting better a year on!

thanks for the info guys will give it a service and fit a filter, its a 54 plate on 59k so i think it will need a cambelt as dont think the guy before had it done,as its not in the service books as having one do i need just a cambelt or do i need to buy a whole kit.thanks ste

If it's not had a cambelt change it may well need the Auxiliary belt change as well (normally done together), off the top of my head cambelt is recomended at 72K or 5 years and auxbelt at 36K or 3 years (whatever comes first). Get it done by a specialist, there are loads in traders section, with the correct Renault locking tools. Also will need the full cambelt kit not just the belt.

Hope this helps

I paid just over 200 for a full aux belt kit and fitting from a trader on here last month for my 182....cambelt and aux belt change I would expect 400-500

i have a mate who is a mechanic so i get mates rates and he said he would do the lot for £200 so sounds cheap enough,as he said all the belts and kit is about £150.

Do yourself a favour (and possibily your mate); don't let him do this work! It will be wrong / you will have to pay again to get it done correctly / your car will run badly. Seriously, look at paying circa £500 from a trader on here and also stump up the membership fee. That might sound like a load of shite, but honestly if you want to get the best out of your 182 - this is what you need to do.

You'll never get a definitive answer on this, but IMO premium fuel is worth it with 1*2's. I get better econemy and better running / performance, but it is more expensive. Tuned Clios aren't the cars to have if it's economey your after. C1's 70 mpg FTW

my mate owns his own garage and does work for customers all over,he has all the correct tools and has always done all my work on my cars and never had one problem from his work,he has been at it for over 35 years and can get the parts for that price, its not what you no its who you no.and i have another mate who is a renault mechanic, its like when a had a saxo vts people would pay 150 for a clutch kit but i new a mate there and he got me them for 50,thanks for the info guys but will make sure it is all done correct and proper.

Yep I think it's a little more urgent on Vpower, supermarket fuels seem to make it feel less active, it makes it slower to snap open the throttle and revs don't seem to wana climb as fast :S but im not talkin massive margins here I just rele went to school when it came to testing both and after lookin into it and hearin about some people on dyno runs makin better numbers on Vpower so I tried myself (because didn't see the point of payin that much for fuel at the start) but it does make a diff but remember it's not a massive diff just slightly noticeable in givin it some mode daily drivin u won't tell I don't think
