Hi to all. New to clios advice plz.

  clio 1.2 16v
Hello to everyone @ the forum ...
I currently own a 1.2 16v 51 Clio my little work run about which I am going to sell . In replacement I want to buy the 172 or 182 after being fairly impressed with the little thing. Budget of around £1800 to £2000
Is there anything to look at on these cars other than the obvious that you would get with any other used vehicle. Just wondered as I am new to Renaults after owning many dare I swear older Vauxhalls. ;) Thanks in advanced to all who reply and again a big hello from sunny Cornwall.

Welcome!

A search on here will show a detailed buyers guide , but you may have to become a member to view it. Well worth it and will pay for itself in no time as you will get full access to forum including Traders sections and Marketplace

The main cost with the Clio 172/182 is to check if its had its cambelt kit changed recently and as by someone who knows what they're doing with the correct Renault timing tools.
Budget around £4-600 for this job from a specialist on here (depending if has air con and needs a dephaser pulley at same time) if its due one- 72k miles OR 5 years which ever comes

Then like you mention usual, check if has decent tyres, brakes and exhaust (most will have a stainless aftermarket system by now)

Look in the cars for sale section on here as majority will have had the belts done and been looked after properly

Happy hunting!
