hi

  saxo vts
new to CS due to noticing a hell lot more clio sports about and liking the look of the 182 cups also the fact i saw a cliosport meet at hylands on sunday in the sun (im from essex), currently i have a saxo vts but insurance is up in july so i will be looking around for upgrades... between 5k to 8k to spend...was considering civic type r or 182 cup but then i thought if i waited 6months with no car, interga dc5 type r seen one on pistonheads for 8k but thats the stuff of my dreams LOL

if anyone has a tuned 182 cup or something with low miles and newish theyd like to get rid of pm me  i cant really look at all of the CS forum for some reason... but anyway hello everyone

182 Cups are a bit poverty 182 with cup packs are much better interior wise, trophys are better still with recaros. The N/A 2.0 units aren't very tuneable at all.

Hope that helped mate.

sounds abit like the vts engine wise not really tuneable unless major £££ is involved and cheers bud

Get a hell of a lot better gains from a air filter + exhaust on the vts engine than you would on an RS engine. Put it that way :rasp:

oh i see... i had 421 and decat and panel filter but now taken the 421 and decat off lol

why more gains from vts engine than a rs engine?

The vts engines are very choked (sp?) as standard wheras the RS engines aren't too bad, you will see small gains like 2-3bhp from a decent Induction kit and maybe another 2bhp from an exhaust but you need cams ITBs etc to see 200bhp.

Of course but I would go 182 with cup packs (the car I'm trying to buy atm) simply because there a hell of a lot nicer inside and out than a VTS more comfortable and if you crash your much more likely to survive ;)

ps. I'm not biased yet as I have a 1.4 16v atm :(
Want to buy it ? :D

oh i see yeah i did notice a difference when i first put 421 and decat on vts and i dont want a 1.4 16v lol not having anything slower than my vts  haha

the solution to the crash thingy is to try and not crash in the first place but speed-wise the upgrade ... id like to hear from a 182 cup owner that has owned a vts before and his/her views on the 2 different cars lol
