Few random questions.

My mates got a 35w HID conversion kit for his CTR EP3. With 6000k bulbs.

I've still got my standard HID/Xenon's which I belive are 4300k Bulbs.

His lights look alot brighter than mine. I thought as mine were lower in K Temperture (4,300k) they should be slightly brighter?

Or is it because i've got projectors lamps and hes just got a standard conversion kit?

Not to sure, its 2002 if thats any help

Sounds like the older one then, it's because HIDs/Xenons need projectors to point the light where it needs to go, without them it's being scattered everywhere.

his will look much brighter purely because his arnt projector so they will just blind you because light is going all over the joint, where as your light is being pointed right were you wont it and will look brighter when standing in the right place.

Which Bulb Type Is Main Beam On A 182 With Xenons? H1/H7???

Also Whats The Max Wattage Bulb You Can Put In The Main Beams With Out Damaging Anything?

The higher the kelvin, the hotter they burn. His are brighter as his are 6k while you standard items are 4.3k - So not as bright.

Do you know what fitment goes on the main beam on the 182?

Are you sure?
I always thought the higher the number the whiter they get... Well start off white then go through blue then to purple at 30k.

4300k might give out more actual light but 6000k would be brighter, would it not?

Or am i completely wrong

You could be right, it may well be that they're technically "brighter" but the higher the number the less usable light you actually get on the road. I've had 4300, 6000 and 8000 and you can easily see the difference when driving.

4300 are about as white as you can get, anything above starts to go blue and anything below starts to go yellow. According to HIDS4U 12000k should be purple.

quite the opposite mate, 4300k bulbs give out more lumens than the 6000k ones...

the reason the thread started feels his bulbs are less bright is because his car got projectors in the headlamps...I am sure the projectors give more useable light than ordinary headlamps...

Whats the max wattage you can put in your main beams? with out damaging stuff?

35watt, anything higher will melt the lenses as well as be ilegal. they all say no for road use.

Ok, Is 35w standard? I though main beams were 55w standard

i have 50w 8K and never melted my lense, also never been pulled with them.
