HIDS and xenons

Im thinking of getting some 172 standard headlights ie the casing with projectors which have xenons in, but my question is are hids and xenons the same thing ? if not whats the difference ?

I already have a pair of HIDS which id like to put into the 172 casing, is that possible ??

yes they are the same mate. alot of hid's use d2s bulbs which is the same as the renault xenons.

As for the fitting the HID kit thing, unless it's D2S fitment it won't work.

Im not too sure if it would work mate, But as i see it you would need the clio xenons, And a HID kit with D2S fitment.

xenon lamps dont, ther fitment is d2s, holder then slots over and locks when you turn it

Going off that then, HIDS wont fit in the 1*2 headlights ?

mite be able to get away with it tbh, i just changed my d2s bulbs to night to 12ks ther is a clip. but not to sure how strong it would be, wouldnt be a waste of money to try tbh. try it and see.
