8k are legal .... but only with projectors.
Just buy OE 1*2 lamps from eBay/CS.
I run 8000k lamps in my 182 and they're perfect. Not too blue at all.
I was thinking of maybe converting my bulbs to Xenon (non sport)
Does this mean if you install aftermarket Xenons every MOT time you have to change back to the standard bulbs?
So unless you have projectors, Xenon bulb conversions are not a very good idea, and would be a mistake on non sports?

I've seen pairs of 182 lamps got for £200-£250 on here.
Not much more than a good HID kit.
Separate bulb.
Don't put HID's in your full beam. The bulbs take a few seconds to heat up and so you won't be able to flash anyone and you'll need to drive in the dark for a few seconds before it will light up the road infront.
I have H7 6000k HID bulbs in my normal 1.2 lamps.
I got a lot of flashing when I first put them in, but I lowered them to #2 of the headlamp adjuster and I've been fine ever since.
My friends say they can definately tell they are HIDs from behind or driving past but they don't blind them
Whos gonna see? the 3 people that go by on windy roads at night? Really not worth it !
If your picky you should'a got Projector units
Ill see how it goes
Does anyone know how to fit them, gonna have a go tomorrow?
Thanks.
Bumper off, headlights off, remove bulbs. Take apart the bit that plugs into the original bulb until you just have the metal clip. Cut it and wrap it round the new HID bulb, use it to hold the new HID bulb in place. Plug the spade connectors into the plug from the original bulb. Job done.
Or at least it was when I had the HID kit in my old 1.2 lights.
