High pitch squeeling at low revs

  Focus MK2 1.8TDCi
Just a 'what do you guys think it is' type of thread.

Basically, what's happening, is that i had my cambelt (and fanbelt i think) replaced 2000 miles ago, but the engine has recently started squeeling high pitched when at low revs. it mainly does it when the engine is cold, and at startup, and at low revs. but it was doing it in the early hours this morning, coming home from work, after 10 miles of motorway.

i've also noticed a relatively major loss of fuel consumption if that helps.. i.e i was getting 440 miles per tank, now it's down to 380 miles (it's only a 1.2 16v) still not shocking, but it is thinking i do all my miles on the motorway.

any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. It's gonna be a 'take back to the garage that did it' type of job anyway, just i'd like to have some sort of what it may be before i take it back
