high pitch wining, aux belt or alternator

there is a wining sound that gets louder and higher pitched as the revs go up on my ph1 172, could it be the alternator, the aux belt or tensioner, any help appreciated. cheers :S

When my alternator was fucked, it sounded like a supercharger.

I have the same issue, i'm hoping a aux belt and tensioners replacement will fix it....

it will be the metal idler on the aux belt run.

Mines making the exact same noise, and yup it was after the fitting of the new aux belt kit! Been back to K-Tec to have a new kit fitted and still making it...

Checked everything and they couldn't find a fault, they said it may be where they had to remove the sound insulation to get to the belts and now i'm picking up the nosie, but dunno!
