highest mileage without belts done

was just wondering what mileage people are on without the belts done. or am i the only one im on 62000 miles belts not done yet suppose i shoild get my finger out.

I did 72k my first cambelt.

Bear in mind the schedule is "whichever is soonest" so those with 6/7/8 year old cars with sub 72k miles that's not a green light to hold off on a belt change. Just get it done, leaving it is the engine equivalent of Russian roulette.

My 172 was 5 1/2 years old when I got the belts changed, wouldn't have liked to leave it any longer.

ive had it 6 years fron new 2005 plate 62000 miles it never gets thrashed not that it makes much difference.

I’ve always wondered does your driving style have an effect on how quickly the belts wear? If you accelerate hard frequently, do more trackdays, motorway cruise in a lower gears ect will these contribute to a belt failing precipitately?

I know a lad who had a ph1 on 117K on the original belt and that car got completely abused. Others will snap after 50k miles. Its luck of the draw I guess.

They're still exposed to years of oxidation and moisture and heat

8 years and 58k (original owner) I changed mine within a fortnight of getting it
