hill power elbow bends etc

the bens that hill power etc do for fitting indcution kits etc are they worth while fitting tothe stadard airbox or is it just for looks/when you have some money spare??

I think it might make the air flow slightly more smooth as the standard hose has those kinda ridges in which disturbs the airflow
