hole in washer jet tank

ive got a 51 plate mk2 172, topped up the washer jet fluid on monday mornin to full, just went to spray the windscreen and nothing happened checked the tank and it was empty, it must have a leak bcos i havent used them since i filled it up, how can i sort this?

It's a common fault, replace the bottle, I had mine done on warranty a few weeks back, but I guess you're out of warranty now.

I think thats fairly common on the 172s for some reason. Think the best bet is to replace it, but check that the hoses are well attached first.

I have had mine replaced twice

you need to remove the wipers and the cowling over it so its not a 2 min job but I am sure you could do it yourself.

i think mine has a hole in to as i topped my fluid up this morning.When i got to my parents house after a couple of hours i went to leave and noticed a puddle forming after a quick taste to see if it was coolant(luckily no).I lifted the bonnet to find no washer fluid.So me being an impatient sod decided to try and get the bottle out managed to get the drivers wiper off but the passenger one is stuck on the splines.So now i have to wait till i get to work tommorow and borrow the tool that your supposed to use to remove the bleeding wipers so i can investigate a bit more.
