home wifi

My wireless, and my mate's in the flat above keep on cutting out. We've both been wireless for months, but now seem to be picking up interference.

Anyone know how we avoid this.

Change router channels, if so how do you do this?

you will have to go in to the router setting, usually by entering an address in the address bar of IE e.g. 192.168.0.1 unique to your router, but not in all cases. and it will be in there once you have entered your username and password. or if your router has software with it, it could be through that. also a larger aerial can help.

Start/run/type cmd/type ipconfig at the cmd prompt

Replace the last number in the ip address with a 1

Launch you web browser and type it in the address bar this should access your router settings

Cheers fella. just did that and it asks me for a user name and password. figured this would be my ssid and network key, but it doesn't like them...

What am I doing wrong?

err, I think I have just turned my routers access point off. I cannot connect to it, and am using a friend's wifi now. How do I turn the access back on?

P.S. I know I'm stupid; was only trying to change the channel again, due to more interference
