Homemade coilovers?

Coming from cars like 106's where there aren't any great solutions to coilovers, customs ones are in my opinion the best way to go (without spending thousands) i was wondering if anyone had ever made any for clios?
I was looking at potentially making some from using short inverted bilsteins used on escorts, that way the dampers are easily changed instead of rebuilding.
Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience in doing this?

We had a similar quandary for the 21 Turbo but we approached a few companies and in the end Gaz did us a coilover kit using original bodies with inserts for an MOQ of 5 initial sets, which was very reasonable I thought. I think that was maybe 8 or 9 years back and they still produce them to order now.
