does a catalic convertor silence the exhaust note at all?

it doesnt knacker the electrics mate.your downstream oxygen sensor may bring up a light on the dash that means the cat isnt performing as it should(which it wont if you take the guts out it)but then again i've unplugged it before an no light has come on.and yes mate it does silence the exhaust note

It does silence it slightly.

Nope I don't think theres likely to be a second sensor just after the cat. If there is then just unplug it.

how much louder is it b coz my exhaust ive got on at the moment is v loud, what difference does it make to the power, is it crap at settin off in 1st?

just buy a de-cat............you need the cat for MOT time, they are v pricey
