Hope your all up for some competition at FCS!!

My cars gonna be looking good. I washed her yesterday and she is looking more shiny than ever.

Armed with my trusty butter wet wax, im sure even Rich will have to try every trick in the book to beat me, for the shiny horours. :approve:

I think a wash and dry followed by some BWW could win it this year actually... NOT!!:rasp:

Dear me!

i.e. Claying, and glazing. lol

tut tut lusty, you should know better than to go up against the Obi-wan Kenobi of detailing on CS.

Haha - Lusty, think you could be screwed!

Rich's car is black too so should get even more bonus points for that as it shows up everything!

To the best of my knowledge Rich does not set out to be the best, to own any one etc.

He just happens to have very high standards, a great eye for detail, and puts a great deal of time and effort in to achieving the look he wants.

Although i could be wrong.

If i am , im sure Mr Treen will correct me in due course.

OCDs are a God send when it comes to detailing though which is what I have, it compels you to need to clean the most inaccessible parts which may take hours and no make much difference to the look of your car. But over time doing lots of seemingly pointless tasks all add up - I think the more miles and older the car being shown should also be taken into account though, as a brand new silver car is a lot easier to get looking good than a 20 year older black car that has done 100,000 miles for example.

Lol, a very bold statement by Lusty which I fear will end in tears when the big boys with their PC's and OCD turn up...

I, however, will be looking to win no competitions, can't even be bothered to PC it this year.

Lol. Brave man lusty, brave man, Rich isn't posting as he's in the garage cleaning right now...

PMSL better count me out I have been polishing my car for weeks and still not finished, got to love the PC ;)

I gave up cleaning cars for competitons years ago I have a box full of shitty trophys in the loft for it! I just clean mine for myself now. Lusty get yourself in the Meguiars Top 25 thing and win some silverwear for CS ;) I am retired.

But if the Lusty one is challenging I may come back on the scene! 3 more weeks of cleaning to go !

Jesus Christ Rich, that pot of wax is nearly £500, you are insane ;)!!!

No I am as I gave it to him ;) services rendered:D

Still I kept the atlantique ;)

Lusty if you win against Rich I will buy you a car that is worthy of being mentioned in threads in driving stories ;)

LOL

Lusty this is where your going wrong - wax only adds maybe 10% to the overall look, all in the polishing son, all in the polishing, spent the last 3 weeks on mine ;)

All filler no thriller, get some cut going on and polish it to a fine luster Lusty.

edit - P.S over use of heavy abbrassives is bad ok kids, a nice finishing polish should give you some good gloss if you have no real defects correct. I recomend Menzerna Final Finsih - see all these tips I am giving you ...

When you say 3 weeks Rich... I would like to hope you have been doing other things in the middle. Eating, sleeping etc....?!

Must be looking cracking. Lusty - think you might get served mate! :)

Prep started 3 weeks ago is a truer term - Mostly real work inbetween :( though have some time off before the FCS to apply the final touches.

In reality spent a day doing the doors, wings, quarters and bonnet. Few hours on the roof and tailgate. Polished Menzerna Final Finish(s) ( Final Polish needed on the bonnet and Intensive Polish and a cutting pad on the boot! ) and Clearkote VM Glaze then Swissvax Cleaner fluided ready for wax.

All the lower parts to do still as well as the tops of the doors, mirrors etc just struggling to find the time.
