Horn is dead.

Car  MK3 Sport Tourer TCE
My horn has died, what should i check first?

Is it likely to be a loose connection somewhere?

Cheers.

mine is done too, amongst 100 other things. tried changing the fuse but isn't that.

Try the actual connection on the horn, its down on the passengers side just behind the blanking caps, and probablay near the wiring for the fog lights.

Doh, you'll fail an MOT with that too!

yes i know. along with my non existant CAT, non existant fog light.

gonna be about 700 quid on repairs this month and prob another couple hundred inc MOT next month!

lol mine too , dam horn lol , the thing is i have never needed to use it , when today some one nearly plowed into the side of me ... !!!! i slammed the horn but no result :(

Connections on the actual horn are poor, then just pick up all the crap that comes through the grill and that (its low down)

Depending what model it is, you can get your arm down behind the light cluster and clean the connections.

take the air bag off and i would put money on the wire broken there its 9 times out of ten the rotory switch if that how you spell it lol

Took it to my local garage this morning and they sorted it for free. Makes a nice change :)

Turns out it was just a poor connection on the horn itself.

Also, the standard horn is a bit pathetic sounding, how easy is it to upgrade to something a bit more 'manly'? Anywhere online I could look? :D
