horn wiring

right got my momo wheel and boss now and ive seen on here a few people have fitted an aftermarket wheel and ive noticed when theyve wire up the horn the wiring has gone up in smoke.im assuming its quite a high current for this to occur?if thats the case,what have people done?thicker cable and fused it or just a relay?

Yeah mine went up in smoke, bl**dy sh1t myself!!!

Had to buy a new cluster that goes over the steering column, cost £90.

I know run with a momo wheel with no horn. LOL.

I have to replace the original wheel come MOT time though.

Means wires are the wrong way round doesnt it?

Mine was fine (sparco 383)

bump mine did this and my second horn botton nearly did the same it only sparks when the metal clip thing on the horn botton touches the wheel/boss it works fine when its away from the wheel any ideas?

mossy what was the cluster u had to get was it just a cover?

thats what i have done as the sabelt wheel has no horn. works a treat

had a stalk with horn on the end in my previous car and was annoying as f**k! so id prefer not to do this,cant exactly be aggressive with it either.lol
