how bad is this...?

  Italian 3.2 V6
I just had my car in for it's major service (change Cambelt etc etc) and got them to check over the car to see if everything is still running fine... 3problem came up, 1 bien a small thing (need to change front disks when change pads) other to are the following...

-gearbox sealings have gone, needs re-sealed (leaking) !
-O/s/f driveshaft has a crack in it.. !

How bad are these 2 problems?
How long are they likely to last until they go kaput?
What would happen if they did go kaput?
And finaly how expensive will they be to repair?

Thanks, piers.

by gearbox seals, do they mean inner CV boots? I suspect they would....
And get a second opinion on a the cracked shaft. You'd be the first person to have had that i'd think

Where is the gearbox actually apparently leaking from? The seal between the two halfs or from the selector? If its the latter then they all weap a little oil so don't worry about it.

Gearbox sounds like a wouldnt worry about it job to me, probably just weeping out of the joints, but make sure that is the case and not a gaitor!!

Sure he didn't say cracked ABS ring on the shaft??
