how bigger job is it

So my PAS pipe decided to just blow up tonight but luckily I do have a spare, its the high pressure one that goes to the pump that I think are common for leaking. How bigger of a job is it to change this pipe? Something I can do myself, any tips?

I've just changed the fluid reservoir and it was a doddle, just undo the clips and drain the reservoir and pipes the best you can, then fit new pipe , make sure everythings tight and fill up the fluid again, start car up and move the steering wheel from lock to lock a few times and jobs a gooden

the high pressure line is NOT the reservoir.


It depenfs where on the pipe it has burst. If it's right by the pump you may be able to change the short section of hard pipe for about £50. If it's on the main section, it's a big and awkward job as the pipe runs around the gearbox and it attached to it , then has some very awkward unions on the steering rack which you will need a range of hydraulics spanners, and probably some modified ones to have a chance if removing.

@Dan its gone right on top of the pump, this short part of the pipe you mentioned is that a detachable part of the full pipe as I have a full spare? And so you reckon I should take this kind of job to a specialist? Sounds a bit to much for DIY

Well its easy enough for me but a first timer may struggle. Bumper off makes it lots easier
