How can I tell if my cars seen paint before?

As above.. Whilst cleaning the car this evening I noticed what appeared to be lacquer drip near the door sill, oh.

As said though paint depth gauge is a good way of looking for any noticeable changed in the paint.

I have had it de swirled before and the guy said 'you've got a straight one'

I'll take it back to him and get him to look at it though.

On closer inspection it looks a bit dark to be lacker, almost like somthings been spilt on there. It won't come off for s**t though. Strange one

From the way the original OP has explained it, that sounds familiar to what mine has


There's a bit on the rear quarters just above the side skirts, looks like the lacquer has failed and dirt has got under it
