How can I tell if my ECU/map has been played with?

Guys, just wondered if there is anyway, apart from RR (as we know half of them lie) to tell whether my car has been mapped prior to me owning it?

Its had a full stainless put on it before, but having held off an alleged 188bhp williams, I started to wonder if its been played with a little?

It still has a 72 limit when warm, but seems to have a really linear pull through the revs, no real noticable 5k "kick", also seems to idle at appx 1000rpm.

Just wondered if anyone like RS Tuning could plug it in and check the map against a generic 172 map to see if there is a difference?

Obvioulsy i dont want to pay for a remap if its already been done

It's simply listed when you plug the kit in, often identifies the place that carried out the map too, or the equipment used.

If the car has been put back to stock then it's not always easy to tell like that.

I dont really have a price for it because most people will want it mapping again anyway as an unknown map might be junk. Power run is the best way. Then you know if it needs it or not!
