how can you tell if engine mounts broke

Is there any way of testing the engine rubbers in the clio 16v to see if they are knackered. as my engine moves around a lot during idleing?

yeah my engine rocks around like an expert too..........

put all new mounts on...no diff......some ppls engines seem to rock around a lot, some dont.......as long as its not hittin owt n the manifold aint gunna break then its alrite......keep racing lol

My valver was knocking quite badly, but when I looked at the mounts, they looked OK from on top. It wasnt until, I removed them from the car, that I could see how knackered they were, all of the rubber on the underneath of the mounts had cracked.

Car has been fine since, apart from the pin on the gearbox top mounting snapping in half!!
