How come insurance cant find my registration?

Hi, im picking up a car soon, and im looking to get some temp cover, however on insurance sites they cant find my car using the registration.

Can anyone explain a poss reason for this?

Maybe just had a plate changed over.

Hmm, deffo possible as it doesnt have window etchings, It's uk spec obv.

However i dont see why it wouldnt be on a database of reg's

Its had a HPI check on it, and all was fine...

If HPI is clear I wouldn't worry as my registration doesn't show up sometimes. I did two quotes with Admiral recently and one found my car while the other didn't.

Don't worry, my plate is still a 1.2 8v Clio on some sites

It may just have had a private plate at some point.

Sometimes it comes up as a 5 Door :S

Could this just be because someone selected it by accident as a 5 door when doing previous insurance etc

Possibly been on a private plate and not had its original number returned and been given a completely new old number, the retention docs for a private plate say that this might happen when you remove the private plate.

My car aint on that link above cause I have a private plate added in the last 4-6 weeks.

mine used to show as a 1.2 sport but infact its a 172, its now fine with insurances so i wouldnt worry to much.

mine shows on some as an old Williams Clio 2.0 16v... which is bloody annoying as all the insurance as you is "is that a 2.0 16v clio" which without knowing I would obviously answer yes to.

I have to tell them yes, but its not a williams... "oh, right...."
