How do i create a website?

You need to create the pages in html. Can't make a site on powerpoint (unless that's got a html convertor on it?).

Once it's in html, you'll need a host. Can find plenty of free ones if you're short on cash, or if it's not a professional site.

Once you've got a host, ftp the html files onto your host, or they might have a file manager where you can upload from that.

Notepad is for emergencies. Need colour coding, line numbers etc if you wanna hand code it (my preferred way of coding).

If you want to hand code, or learn what things in frontpage are doing, can go to this site http://www.lissaexplains.com It's meant for kids, but it's easy to follow if you don't know what anything is

You should have a program on your pc called frontpage. Dreamweaver I've heard is the best choice though. That's about as much help as I can give you on editors as I've been hand coding for almost 8 years, so don't know any other WYSIWYG's

Something you might want to do if you've already got the webspage you want in PowerPoint is to do this:

File -> Save As Web Page

It will be in the right format for viewing on the web then.

pages need to be in HTML.

most of my pages were written in Notepad, but ive got lazy recently and used frontpage.

then decide on a host. I use PurplePaw who charge me something like £60 a year for ther server and £10 a year for the domain.

As for uploading the pages, use an FTP program. I like FlashFXP which is a doddle to use, and you can get a free trial. Only $25 for the full program though.
